Policy Update: Site Survey Required Before Final Starlink Installation Estimate
7/22/2026
Effective immediately, Lone Pine Technology is returning to our standard process:
On-site survey -> Installation plan and estimate -> Customer approval -> Installation
If you are ready to get started, request an on-site survey here:
https://www.lptllc.com/sss
We previously allowed limited exceptions where customers could skip the on-site survey in an effort to reduce upfront cost and speed up scheduling. While that worked in some cases, it can create preventable misunderstandings when important site conditions are not visible in advance.
Without seeing the property firsthand, it is not always possible to accurately identify all mounting, cabling, accessibility, structural, and equipment requirements. In a small number of cases, the actual installation required more labor or materials than initially anticipated.
To prevent surprises and ensure every customer clearly understands and approves the full scope of work, we are reinstating our complete process for Starlink installations.
We would rather decline a project than risk disappointing a customer, compromising quality, or putting our reputation at risk.
Lone Pine Technology has more than 25 years of satellite industry experience. We have not had to return to one of our installations due to poor workmanship or improper planning. Return visits have been limited to equipment failures, customer-requested changes, or relocation requests.
Customers are always free to choose lower-cost options. However, we recommend keeping our number handy. Roughly 20% of our weekly field work now involves relocating, correcting, or improving Starlink systems installed by less-experienced providers.
Our process is not always the cheapest or fastest. It is designed to deliver a safe, reliable, professional installation done correctly the first time.
Thank you for your understanding and continued trust.
